Project “Media Room” Makeover – TV Stand

by Shani

It’s time to put away my sewing machine. I’m going to dust off my building tools and get started on a big DIY furniture project that’s been on my to do list for awhile.

My husband and I are planners. We love to plan out all the things we dream of doing in the house. For months we’ve been talking about turning our empty “Media Room” into a cozy, family retreat. Sometimes talking turns into heated discussions over the look and design of the room or the type of furniture we like. Thankfully there are two things we agree on; the first one being the size of the television and the second one is that I get to plan and build the media unit.

I am so looking forward to building this long weekend!

I plan on turning this…

For my project, I decided to use cabinet grade plywood instead of MDF. Although I would love to splurge on maple sheets, it doesn’t make sense to spend the extra cash since I plan on painting the final product.

So how am I going to turn all those pieces of plywood into a beautiful pottery barn inspired tv stand? Well you are going to have to wait and see! Visit often and watch me build, or even better…head over to ana-white.com and you’ll find yourself jumping on the building bandwagon with more excitement and enthusiasm than you ever could imagine!
