Sew many bags, so little time! I thought I was temporarily retiring my sewing machine in favour building our Pottery Barn inspired media cabinet. Instead, I found myself working on two consecutive sewing projects over the past weekend. (Yes, I know, it’s already Thurday.)
Last Saturday I rushed to complete yet another Cosmo Bag by Amy Butler. As far as quality goes, I’m really disappointed by my slapped together sewing job. Unfortunately, mistakes and sloppiness come hand in hand with rushing through any craft. Ah well, I did learn a new lesson – contrast stitching looks nice, but only if you take the time to do a good job.
And so I humbly present my latest handbag project, the Jessa Bag (aka Cosmo Bag)…
If the fabric looks familiar to you, it’s because I recently used the same print for the Angela Bag. It’s a gorgeous cotton sateen fabric with a gray-brown and pink floral motif. The Jessa Bag features a shorter handle than the previous “Cosmo” bags that I have worked on.
Made especially for my sister as a gift to celebrate her birthday, the Jessa Bag is the perfect accessory for any girl who is “thirty, flirty and thriving”. If my sister is feeling old then I must be ancient! No, my thirty year old younger sister is far from being an old bag (pardon the pun). She is exactly what Jennifer Garner’s character, Jenna Rink in “13 Going on 30″ would describe as the perfect, successful thirty-something modern woman.
Happy Belated Birthday Jessa – Enjoy your new one of a kind handbag!
