More Crochet Cupcakes

Hello! Remember me? I’m still here despite the fact I haven’t posted anything since the first week of October. I’ve been itching to blog about all my projects. Really I have! There are so many things I’m working on, I just don’t know where to start.

How about some more crochet? I had a lot of fun with the crochet slippers but that phase is over. Now I’m back to crocheting cupcakes.

Sugar, spice and everything nice…that just about sums up this lovely batch of crochet cupcakes I just finished “baking”.  We have a birthday party to attend on the weekend so I whipped up half a dozen crochet cupcakes for the soon to be six year old birthday girl.

I have yet to meet a little girl who doesn’t appreciate receiving these crochet cupcakes. They are the perfect addition to any princess tea party.

Much like real cupcakes, all the fun is in the decorating only without the mess. I wanted to give the cupcakes a little bling so I used Swarovski crystal beads for sugar sprinkles. I also decorated with homemade crochet sugar flowers.

Craving your own set of crochet cupcakes? Crocheting these amigurumi creations is actually quite easy. If you can crochet in rounds and follow basic instructions, then this is the project for you.

I used the cupcake pattern from the book, Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet by Ana Paula Rimoli. She offers a free pattern on her blog but heed my warning, the final shape of your cupcake will be different from what you see in my pictures because the patterns do vary slightly.

So now you know what I’ve been up to lately! (Other than cooking, cleaning, cooking and more cleaning.) I do have much more to tell you but it will have to wait. I’ll leave you with a hint. I can’t post a picture yet because I’m waiting for the project to “cure”.

Don’t miss out on these crafty posts:

  1. I love these, Shani! I am going to try them. I’ve made the teapot, cups and cookies from her other book. Super cute!!! I need some cupcakes too!

  2. Oh, I think I need a crochet teapot to go with the cupcakes! I like her books. The instructions are nice and simple. I haven’t made any of the animals yet. Madeline has been bugging me about making one of the teddy bears. Maybe for Christmas!
