I‘ve been spending way too much time shopping and not enough time crafting! I briefly mentioned shopping for stencils and paint for a project but then I became consumed with further researching the discontinued Cricut Create and searching for places to buy the cartridges at a better price. Obsess much? Um yeah…that’s just what I do in my “free” time.
Anyhow, I did manage to squeeze in some paper and paint crafting over the weekend. Using my new paint, stencils and Cricut Create, I whipped up a few handmade cards.
I made this set of neutral themed cards for Sara, one of my readers. Sara replied to my Pay it Forward post earlier in the year. I’m embarrassed that it’s taken me this long to make something for her.
The stencil designs you see are by Martha Stewart Crafts. I purchased them from Michaels last week. I thought they were a bit pricey (am I the only one that thinks Michaels is overpriced?) but I really liked the designs from the craft queen’s line. At the risk of sounding like a complete dork, I love how all the Martha Stewart Crafts products look. I’m a sucker for aesthetically pleasing packaging and design.
The paint is also from the new Martha Stewart Crafts line by Plaid. I really like using these multi-surface paints. They are smooth and easy to work with. I tried the paints on a ceramic mug and they worked beautifully. I have yet to try them on fabric but plan to do so soon and of course I will be letting you know all about the results!
All the cards were placed in a handmade enveloped and labeled with a homemade tag (cut with the Cricut of course).
I’ve never really used paint and stencils before. Hopefully Sara will like the handmade cards despite my beginner’s stencil work. Hey, it’s the thought that counts right?

Thanks Sara! I’ll get them to you as soon as I can. Thanks for being so patient:-)
